Sofie takes her inspiration from Sofonisba Anguissola, a famous Renaissance artist who painted her way from the bottom of the middle class up to a Queen's lady-in-waiting. Sofonisba's resilience and dedication helped pave the way for women to become established artists and painters in a time where it was unheard of for women to be taken seriously as artists.

 

With the Harlot Queens, Sofie is not always one to follow the rules of the upper class. Sofie is as skilled with her paintbrush as she is with her words. This fun, flirtatious Queen is not as innocent as she appears! She will take your secrets as her own, and it is up to you whether she uses them for your benefit or for her own personal gain. A gentle lover of the sea and the outdoors, the Queen of Wands is easy to overlook- but best not underestimate this sweetly smiling Queen!

 

In the real world, Caroline is an elementary art teacher hailing from the Mass/CT border. She holds her M.Ed in visual arts and ceramics and has been teaching young artists for over 8 years. Caroline is not a stranger to the stage; she has been performing in musicals for over 10 years, and can be found backstage as well, either set designing or designing props for shows. Recently Caroline has started performing in plays and Renaissance faires as well, the latter of which truly resonates with her soul. There is no greater gift for the passionate musician than the entertainment of a Renaissance faire!
